Close Up Clothing is all about creating thought provoking designs for T-shirts. "Close Up" got its name when Michael van Bemmel starting experimenting with making T-shirts with iron-on designs. A few months into experimenting with iron-on designs Michael and others who saw his shirts noticed that if you looked "Close Up" to the shirt's design that you would see light images ironed into the fabric....Shortly after this dicovery of the unique designs, he declared "Close Up" the name of his line.
A few months after making iron-on designs out of his bedroom, on a saturday evening after dinner with the family his brother-in-law told him about screen-printing. Michael had no idea that he was being introduced to a newer level of designing.
About a week later Michael found a printing shop originally looking to get some shirts printed and ended up getting a 2nd part-time job. From this point on Michael found something he loved to do, screen print and make cool shirts. ( Thank you Jim and Linda for the opportunity of a lifetime, and for being such cool bosses). Fellow Co-Worker Otis and boss Jim, showed him the ends and ropes of screen printing. From, this experience doing screen-printing Michael made a few new friends Boss Jim and Linda, and Co-Worker Otis.
After about 6 months or so of screen printing for Dynasty Screen Printing, Michael was in for the move of a life time. His dad had to relocate to New Jersey for his work. Now since Michael being 19 years old and still living at home he had to "Go-With-The-Flow". And that brings us to today where Michael has progressed with his designs that either he pulled out of one of his dream or simply displaying a cool design, which all of them make great conversations. Michael has great plans for the feature with Close Up Clothing. Right now its only guy shirts but eventually will make stuff for girls..And intends to attend many events and shows down the road.
